The People's Government of Cixi City stated that the Cixi region belonged to Yue during the Spring and Autumn period, and Qin was the county of Juzhang. It was named "Cixi" since the Tang Dynasty, when Dong An of the Eastern Han Dynasty said "mother, child, and filial piety". It is also commonly known as the "Three North" due to its current region spanning the northern part of the three counties. The cultural accumulation is rich, and it has nurtured regional cultures such as "reclamation, immigration, celadon, and filial piety".
